Blue Skies![]() The wood used in the creation of this vessel was carved from a Bulnesia tree that had been uprooted by Hurricane Andrew and hurled through the side of a house. Bulnesia wood is extremely dense and has the natural colors of light coffee and opaque yellow with random streaks of blue and aqua. Joanne's weaving incorporates reed, sisal, copper metal, rush and indigo-dyed cotton fiber. ![]() The name for this piece was taken from the title of the song that was popular in the 1930's. My mother sang it when I was a kid. |
